ARTIFACT:

This is a rare early World War II shipboard-made United States Navy dog tag T-dated September 194It was made for Walter Max Gulke, coxswain of the battleship USS North Carolina BB-5With fifteen WWII battle stars, the USS North Carolina has the distinction of being the most decorated American battleship of the war. She is now a museum located at Wilmington, North Carolina.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1942 (early World War II).

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/4" tall and 1-1/2" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Holes.

MARKINGS:

T 9/42; WALT (typo) on reverse.
