Description
ARTIFACT: Rare early WWI US-produced German patriotic 'Iron for Gold' watch fob. The center shows an Iron Cross and a sprig of leaves, surrounding it reads: "DEM VATERLAND IN TREUE", "FUR EISEN GOLD ICH WEINE". The reverse shows a maker's mark that reads: "THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, N.J."
VINTAGE: Circa early WWI.
SIZE: Approximately: 1-11/16" in height x 1-1/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS: Blackened iron.
ATTACHMENT: Loop/lug.
