Rare Circa 1950 USAF Type K-2A Very Lightweight Flight Suit Size Medium Short

This is a circa 1950 United States Air Force Type K-2A very lightweight flight suit with a USAF shoulder decal, a purple tab on the chest and a leather clip on the left leg. The blue suit has several zippered pockets, one with a dual pencil sleeve, and was made by Great Lakes Garment Manufacturing Company. It is labeled a Size Medium Short (please see measurements below).

Circa 1950 (early Korean War).

Size Medium Short: approximately 21" from armpit to armpit; 56" length from collar to hem leg cuff; 23" from shoulder seam to wrist cuff; 19" between shoulders; 27" inseam.

Nylon.

Zipper with pull and zippered pockets; snaps at cuffs and waist.

7 (Very Fine): The suit is in overall very fine condition; there is a frayed seam near the right waistline.
