ARTIFACT: This is a rare Nam-made circa 1968 pocket hanger for B Company 228th Assault Support Helicopter Battalion (ASHB), "Long Horns," attached to the 1st Cavalry Division of the US Army. This patch is made of unusual material, as it appears to be silk or rayon given the gleam of it. Rayon is a semi-synthetic fiber made of cellulose, a material found in wood pulp, and provides a shine similar to that of this patch.

VINTAGE: Circa 1968

SIZE: Appr: 5-3/8" x 4-1/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silk/Rayon on woven wool.

ATTACHMENT: Leather tab for hanging

MARKINGS: "B COMPANY 228TH ASHB. LONG HORNS."

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Army Patch collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MHX17 LBDEX7/17

CONDITION: 9- (Excellent+): The patch has a very nice shine to it and has been kept in wonderful condition
