ARTIFACT:
This is a rare Nam-made circa 1968 pocket hanger for B Company 228th Assault Support Helicopter Battalion (ASHB), "Long Horns," attached to the 1st Cavalry Division of the US Army. This patch is made of unusual material, as it appears to be silk or rayon given the gleam of it. Rayon is a semi-synthetic fiber made of cellulose, a material found in wood pulp, and provides a shine similar to that of this patch.
