ARTIFACT: This is Rare USAAF 89th Bomb Squad, 3rd Bomb Group, 5th Air Force jacket patch. This was embroidered on wool and made in Australia. It has seen extensive action in the Pacific flying an A-20 aircraft. The A-20, also named the Havoc by its maker, Douglas, was a light-bomber aircraft of World War II. Roughly 7,478 of these bombers were manufactured for the war, and they proved to be pivotal to the Axis by providing high altitude bombing.

VINTAGE: Circa 1943's.

SIZE: Approximately 5-1/4" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Embroidered on wool.

ATTACHMENT: N/A.

MARKINGS: NONE

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USAAF collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. TRBJJX16 LGIEX02/17 STRVCJJX05/11/19

CONDITION: 9- (Excellent): This patch has seen some use, definitely. It has some frays in the thread and some discoloration from time and use, but it doesn't just have the "Been there" look, it was genuinely there.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
