Description
This is a rare stewardess hat with badge from Delta, Chicago & Southern (Delta C&S). Chicago & Southern Air Lines merged with Delta in 1953, and operated under the name Delta C&S for two years. The hat is toffee-colored cotton with ribbing on top and the badge is a gold-plated brass wing with red enamel. The hat is stuffed with tissue to retain its shape and may be seen poking out a bit in a few of the photos.
VINTAGE:Circa 1953-1955.
SIZE:Small size (no tag): approximately 7-1/2" length, 4" width and 1-15/16" height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Cotton, silk liner, gold-plated brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal come-under locking swivel catch on badge.
