ARTIFACT:
This is a rare 1st type Belgian badge for the 3rd Infantry Bicycle Regiment dating from 1939 through early World War II. The 3rd and 4th Regiments were formed in 1939 from the splitting up of the first two, and then in 1940 the 5th Regiment came into being. The badge is a wonderfully detailed wolf's head and reads 3Cy JE MORDS and IK BYT (I Bite). C'est un premier insigne de type rares belge pour le 3ième Regiment de Carabiniers Cyclistes datant de 1939 jusqu'au debut de Seconde Guerre mondiale. Les 3eme et 4ème regiments ont ete formes en 1939 de la scission des deux premiers, puis en 1940, le 5e Regiment a vu le jour. Le badge est une tête magnifiquement detailles loup et lit 3Cy JE MORDS et IK BYT. Dit is een zeldzame 1e soort Belgische badge voor de 3e Regiment Karabiniers Wielrijders daterend van 1939 tot begin Tweede Wereldoorlog. De 3e en 4e Regimenten werden gevormd in 1939 uit de splitsing van de eerste twee, en vervolgens in 1940 het 5e Regiment ontstaan. De badge is een prachtig gedetailleerd wolf hoofd en leest 3Cy JE MORDS en IK BYT.
