ARTIFACT:

This is a rare 1938 United States Air Corps yearbook entitled "Randolph Field 1938". Randolph Field, now known as Randolph Air Force Base, is located outside of San Antonio, Texas. Still a military flight training facility, Randolph Field has been around since 193Some of the photographs in the book picture great examples of 1930s era wings and insignia. The book has a very Deco cover and several blank black pages in the back meant as a scrapbooking area. The book was published by Parke-Harper Company of Little Rock, Arkansas. The book comes with a newspaper clipping of an obituary for one of the privates.

Circa 1938.

SIZE:

113 pages with black and white photographs and several blank black pages at the end for scrapbooking; approximately 11-1/4" in height and 8-5/8" in width and 3/4" in thickness.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Embossed cloth-bound cover, paper, construction paper.

ATTACHMENT:

Glued binding.

CONDITION:

7 (Very Fine): The book has some spots of medium wear to the cover at the spine edges and ends; very minimal aging inside; some pages have small amounts of writing on them; all blank pages at end are blank.
