This is a rare lion claw mounted on an intricately engraved 14 karat gold cap. The piece dates from the 1800s and has some very small, hard-to-decipher French maker's marks on the suspension loop.
VINTAGE:Circa 1800s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-7/8" in width and 1-3/4" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:14 karat gold (tested), lion claw.
ATTACHMENT:Loop for hanging.
MARKINGS:No mark (tested).

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The claw has some yellowing and some of the layers of the claw are beginning to lift with age.
