This is a plaque plate of the USS Thresher, a nuclear submarine built at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1960 and sunk off Cape Cod in 1963 during deep-diving tests. The plaque touts the Thresher as THE WORLD'S MOST ADVANCED NUCLEAR SUBMARINE.
VINTAGE:Circa 1960-1963.
SIZE:2-1/8" height and 3-1/2" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Aluminum.
