Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a Portsmouth Gas Company shovel holder, which is meant for mounting upon a wall and has a curved cradle at the bottom for holding a shovel. The holder is in orange and black and advertises the company as the manufacturers of "Portsmouth Clean Coke".

VINTAGE:

Circa 1910.

SIZE:

Approximately 7-7/8" height and 4" width and 1-7/8" depth.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Aluminum.

ATTACHMENT:

Two holes.

7+ (Very Fine+): The holder has some light to medium wear and spots of rusting, mostly on reverse.
