This is a numbered World War I Massachusetts Committee on Public Safety food worker badge. The badge is oval, showing the seal of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at center, and reads 1917 NATION'S SERVICE FOOD PRODUCTION around the border.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/4" in height and 2-1/2" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal kick pin with forked locking catch.
