Description
This is a nice World War II era Worcester, Massachusetts Special Police badge. Located in very nearly the geographical center of the Massachusetts, Worcester was incorporated in 172The badge is shield-shaped with the Worcester City seal at center, which shows a heart symbolizing Worcester as "The Heart of the Commonwealth." The badge is numbered 706 and was made in "wartime shortages material": nickel-plated steel. It is very flat in construction.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 1-3/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated steel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin, rectangular saddle.
MARKINGS:706 on front.
