Description
This is a nice old circa 1920s or 1930s Alameda Co., California Special Deputy Sheriff badge. Founded in 1853, Alameda Company comprises a large part of the San Francisco Bay area. The badge was made by Ed Jones & Company of Oakland, California in silver-plated nickel. It is shield-shaped with laurel boughs on either side and is numbered 16T at the bottom. The body of the badge in convex but the eagle at the top is flat.
VINTAGE:Circa 1920s-1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/16" in height and 1-11/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silver-plated nickel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical kick pin with forked locking catch.
MARKINGS:16T on front; ED JONES & CO. OAKLAND on reverse.
