Description
Nice, old 1910's 1920's Police Chief Hat Badge. The center of the badge features a five-point star with the letter/number 'X' on either side and is topped with an eagle with its wings spread and head bowed. The base of the badge features raised lettering that reads: "CHIEF". The reverse of the badge shows a conversion from screwback to pinback.
VINTAGE:Circa 1910's 1920's.
SIZE:Approximately 2 3/8" x 2 1/8".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt brass.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with 'C' catch, stabilizer pin.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The hat badge shows minor to moderate surface wear and the reverse shows areas of oxidation, much of the plating remains intact. The reverse shows a conversion from a double post screw back to a vertical pinback.
