Description
Nice, clean, late 1960's Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm. The medallion is Vietnamese-made, shaped in the form of a Maltese cross, with two crossed swords and a wreath behind. The center of the cross contains a disc with the outline of the country of Vietnam between two palm branches joined at the bottom with a scroll that reads: "QUOC-GIA LAO-TUONG" (Reward of the State). The medal is suspended from a yellow and red ribbon that shows a Palm leaf. The Gallantry Cross was awarded in four levels/grades beginning in 1950 Palm, Gold Star, Silver Star, and Bronze Star being the highest grade, the Gallantry Cross was awarded to military individuals, corps, divisions, regiments, and brigades for deeds of valor or displaying heroic conduct during battle.
