Description
Nice 1930's Massachusetts State Police Campaign hat badge. The shield shaped badge features a highly detailed State Seal of Massachusetts with pierced ribboning, an Algonquin Native American holding a bow and arrow with a five-point star next to his head. The badge is topped with a bent arm holding a broadsword aloft. Along the outer edge of the shield a scroll reads: "ENSE PETIT PLACIDAM SUB LIBERTATE QUIETEM" in embossed lettering and it loosely translates to "By the sword we seek peace, but peace only under liberty". A nice badge depicting the Great Seal of the State of Massachusetts.
