WWII USAAF 14th Air Force Patch "Double Elbow, Thick Tail" Variant, Unworn
ARTIFACT: This is an unworn World War II United States Army Air Forces 14th Air Force shoulder patch in the "double elbow, thick tail" variant. The 14th Air Force replaced the China Air Task Force, which itself had earlier replaced the 1st American Volunteer Group (aka "e;Flying Tigers"e;). The patch shows a winged tiger and a white star with a red center.
VINTAGE: Circa World War II.
SIZE: Approximately 2-11/16" in height and 2-5/8" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fully embroidered in cotton/silk threads.
