Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a 1971 commendation plaque for "extreme heroism" given to John A. Clarke by the City of Los Angeles for saving the life of a police officer trapped in a burning car. The plaque shows the seal of the City of Los Angeles in full color and an engraved plaque beneath "signed" by then-Mayor Sam Yorty.

VINTAGE:

Circa January 1971.

SIZE:

13-1/16" length and 9-7/16" width and 13/16" depth.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Wood, gold-plated brass with colored decal.

ATTACHMENT:

Two eye hooks.

MARKINGS:

34 at base of seal decal.
