Late War Bronze Medal of Merit (Verdienstmedaille) of the Order of the German Eagle in Zinc

This is a late World War II Bronze Merit Medal of the Order of the German Eagle (Bronzene Verdienstmedaille), an award given largely to important non-German citizens sympathetic to the Nazi cause. The medal is in zinc and shows a Maltese Cross with four swastika-bearing eagles on the front in relief. It hangs from a red ribbon with narrow off-white and black stripes.
