ARTIFACT:
Beautiful late 1930's - early 1940's Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff "A" series badge as given out by Sheriff Gene Biscailuz, manufactured by George Schenck. The center of the six-point ball-tipped badge features a walking bear in high relief detail and the outer edge shows intricate details and the top point shows a floral embellishment and along the top a banner reads "DEPUTY SHERIFF" and beneath two raised banners read: "LOS ANGELES COUNTY" and the base shows the number "1246 A" in silver. The reverse shows a maker's mark that reads: "GEO. SCHENCK LOS ANGELES"
