This is a late 1950s copper belt buckle for the Harley-Davison Sportster motorcycle. The buckle shows the cycle that has been manufactured ever since 1957 in relief at its center. Incredibly enough, the legend that is Harley-Davidson started in the Midwest in 1903 in a wooden shed.
VINTAGE:Circa late 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-9/16" in length and 2-9/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Copper.
ATTACHMENT:Rectangular loop and prong.
MARKINGS:L maker's mark.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The buckle has a lovely patina and some minor abrasions and spots of oxidation along the edge.
