ARTIFACT: Large WWII Canadian Hat Badge of the North Nova Scotia Highlander (Machine Gun) Regiment. The regiment embarked for Great Britain on July 18, 1941. On D-Day, it landed in Normandy as part of the 9th Infantry Brigade, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division, and it continued to fight in North-West Europe until the end of the war. The overseas battalion disbanded in January 1946 with battle honors. The bade reads: "COS CHEUM NACH GASH TILLEADH ??? N.N.S. HIGH'RS (M.G.)"

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: 2 ??" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Stamped, die-cut nickel, slightly convex in high relief.

ATTACHMENT: Two loops and pin

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Canadian militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay VAEM14 LADEX12/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine - Excellent): Badge shows moderate wear on high parts. Replaced loops in steel, possibly period.
