ARTIFACT:
This is a terrific and super-sized circa 1917 United States Navy recruiting poster. The poster reads ALL TOGETHER! and shows sailors from around the world gathered in a congenial scene, with the American seaman subtly placed at center, appearing just a bit taller and more confident than the other men. The artist was a Naval Reservist, and he signed and dated his work. The poster's coloring is best represented by the detail of the three men: the photo of the entire poster was brightened to show up better in the thumbnail photo.
