This is a Japanese-made United States 8th Army shoulder patch in red wool felt and silver bullion. The patch is octagonal with a white saltire cross at its center, and dates from early in the Occupation Period.
VINTAGE:Circa early World War II Occupation Period.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/4" square.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool felt embroidered in bullion threads, muslin backing.
ATTACHMENT:None.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The patch has light wear and a small moth-nipped areas along one edge.
