ARTIFACT:
This is a Japanese Silk Flag Presented to Mr. Kyozo Yokoyama by Lieutenant General of the Army Hisao Tani Wishing him 'Good Luck' During Enlistment. This type of Luxury Silk Flag was very expensive during the World War II. This makes sense that Lieutenant General Mr. Tani Chose this for a gift. Size: Large Approximately 41-1/4" x 28"
Mr. Yokoyama obviously came from an important family, and later was high up in the Japanese Defense Force, and an Ambassador.
General Tani was executed for War Crimes in 1947 for commanding the troops responsible for the Nanjing Massacre in 1937.
