ARTIFACT: This is an enameled squadron badge for the Italian Air Force's 9th Bomb Squadron, 25th Bomb Group, or Aeronautica Militare Italiana 9th Squadriglia de Bombardamento, 25th Stormo da Bombardamento. It is in the shape of a saluting Felix the Cat, the famed cartoon character who debuted in a 1919 silent film. Felix's Italian nickname was "Mia Mao".

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 15/16" in height and 3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with C catch.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge shows some light wear to the enamel, small chip in enamel at tail, and minor tarnish.
