Thank you for visiting. We hope you will find some vintage artifact of interest here, but please be advised that we are currently out of the office, at the legendary MAX Show (Last one in Pittsburgh!) returning on Monday September 23rd, and we will not be able to ship until then. Feel free to place an order, or email us to place an artifact ON HOLD, but, again, we will not be able to ship until 9/23/19.
Thank you, Ron & Kana
This is a beautiful, rare 1947-48 Ceylon Airways / Air Ceylon 1st Issue Pilot Wing with an enameled yellow and red hexagon at center bearing the letters "AC".
Air Ceylon was the former flag carrier airline of Ceylon, which started operations in 1947. The airline had financial troubles in the later 1970's, and finally ceased all operations on 31 August 1979, when it was replaced by Air Lanka, which was eventually rebranded as Sri Lankan Airlines in 1998, and is still in operation today.
Approximately 3/4" x 2-7/16"
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Possibly coin silver or silver-plated nickel.
Two loops, cotter pin.
This is from an airline collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay07/29/19 MEJX14 LX6/14 SLDGEX06/14
