Description
IDENTIFIED!! This long unidentified patch has finally been ID'd! It is for the 316th Service Group of the United States Army Air Forces. It shows a hand gloved in armor clutching a golden wing and reads AUXILIUM FERIMUS ILLIS. This translates from the Latin to: "We Help Them" or "We Give Them a Lift". The patch is beautifully hand painted in multiple shades of blue and gold, along with black, on a leather shield shape, with nicely cut out scroll work at bottom. We do not know currently where the 316th SG was stationed priori to, or during, WWII.
