This is an iconic, Early WWI M1913 Imperial Prussian Army Pilot Badge, manufactured circa 191This is a Type 1 badge, by Juncker ,in 800 Silver.
If only this early war badge could speak! It obviously had some use, and the long time in the Air War necessitated a period repair to the original C catch to maintain wearability. Otherwise, quite a striking piece with lovely moderate patina and very light wear: this badge was well cared for.
This badge is among 4 of our current offerings that were chosen by OVMS to be on the back cover of this year's MAX program.
World War I, Circa 1914.
