ARTIFACT: This is a huge 1945 centennial edition of the United States Naval Academy's "Lucky Bag" yearbook. The book is less than one inch shy on each side of being a folio size, and has a great map of Fort Severn inside both covers. The book has a total of 608 mostly glossy, black and white pages. We have included photos (above) of some of the more interesting prints and popular advertisements, including a full page ad for Bailey, Banks & Biddle Co. and a full-color Chesterfield ad featuring Ernie Pyle. Also shown is the more sobering page for Ensign Eugene Samuel Captain, who died at the Battle of Leyte Gulf (included is a period death announcement).

VINTAGE: Circa 1945.

SIZE: 608 pages; approximately 14-1/4" in height and 11-1/2" in width and 2-1/16" in thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Paper, painted cloth-covered cardboard, newsprint.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: COVERS BY NATIONAL PUB CO. PHILADELPHIA.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJX09 LAAEX2/11 SAJJX12/12

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The book has light overall wear, but a handful of the pages are stuck together from moisture damage.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
