Description
Great WWII United States Navy Seabees Sailor's trunk with pin-ups, period photographs, and decals. The wood trunk features the Seabees decal logo on the front, an image that depicts a bumble bee holding a wrench, hammer, and machine gun. Below the bee reads: "SEABEES". Inside there are six photos, one of an evergreen covered in snow, three men with the hunt's bounty hanging up behind them, a portrait, a gentleman playing the saxophone, a woman with two dogs, and a photo of Shirley Temple that is signed: "TO LAWRENCE FROM SHIRLEY TEMPLE". The underside of the lid also shows a smaller version of the Seabees decal seen on the front. The trunk features three closures, one locking (two need repair). Attached to the leather handle is a paper tag that reads: "PARCEL CHECK STUB. THIS STUB TO REMAIN ON THE PARCEL WHEN DELIVERED, 29 - 29 - 28"

CONDITION:7- (Very Fine-): The trunk shows moderate wear, much of the decal remains intact, two of the closures need repair, metal shows areas of oxidation, handle replacement, overall very fine condition.
