Description
This is a World War I "Welcome Home" celluloid pin for the United States Army 26th Division that has a ribbon and an attached Liberty Bell. The pin bears an interlocking Y and D for the Massachusetts group's nickname, the "Yankee Division".
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:Approximately 3" in length (including ribbon) and 1-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Celluloid-wrapped tin, silk ribbon, plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Straight pin (safety pin to hold bell on to ribbon).
MARKINGS:There is a very hard-to-read maker's stamp on back of pin, possibly for Whitehead & Hoag (letters appear to be HOA).

CONDITION:6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The pin has seen some moderate wear, most noticeably to the ribbon, with some yellowing and minor denting to the celluloid and light rusting on reverse.
