Description
This is a great aviator or aviatrix cigarette box with insignia from the 1930s. The top of the box shows a painted propeller with P246 52 engraved on it (possibly a pilot number). Covering the rest of the lid are attached insignia, including one from PAA Ferries Inc., the Grand Bahama Club, the Women Flyers of America, Grumman Aircraft, the National Air Races and a caduceus.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/8" height and 1-15/16" width and 3-3/8" depth.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome-plated brass on wood with painted detail; sterling; gold-plated brass insignia, some with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two hinges.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): There are several small spots of wear on the box and most of the enamel on the insignia is intact.
