Great pose! Circa 1901 photo of Maine National Guard 1st Infantry Regiment Company A 2nd Lieutenant Frank E. Cummings of Portland, Maine. The photo shows 2nd Lieutenant Cummings in a relaxed pose, sitting on a trunk with his sword across his lap. The sepia toned photograph is on heavy card stock and the reverse shows handwriting in ink which reads: "2nd LIEUT. F. E. CUMMINGS"
