ARTIFACT: Great United States Army Air Forces Escape and Evasion Miniature Compass. These secret 'North Seeking' magnetic compasses were issued to USAAF/USN, allies, paratroopers, etc. This is a classic design featuring a square plate with two dots of radium paint and a red tip indicating North. The most well-known versions of these secret compasses were hidden within the brass uniform buttons.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately 5/16" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Brass, magnet, celluloid

ATTACHMENT: None.

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): Evasion compass shows minor to moderate wear, overall excellent condition.
