ARTIFACT:

This is a great circa 1950 United States Navy Master at Arms badge for the Rhine River Patrol Headquarters at Schierstein, Germany. Established in 1949 under the leadership of the Commander, US Naval Forces, Germany, the Rhine River Patrol monitored the inland waterways between Bingen and Karlsruhe, Germany. The large shield-shaped badge is German-made in hand-engraved .800 silver. The badge is numbered 2 and has a nice detailed eagle at the top with an anchor motif at the center.

Circa 1950.

Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 1-11/16" in width.
