The handled, tin with its original lid intact reads: “SWIFT’S “SILVERLEAF” BRAND PURE LARD GUARANTEED PREPARED FOR SWIFT & COMPANY, U.S.A. U.S. INSPECTED AND PASSED BY DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE”, and the reverse reads: “SWIFT’S “SILVERLEAF” BRAND LARD IS GUARANTEED PURE. ITS POPULARITY IS ATTESTED BY AN ENORMOUS AND UNIVERSAL SALE. SWIFT & COMPANY”.
