This is a great old circa 1880s or 1890s police badge from Rochester, New Hampshire. The badge is octagonal and was manufactured by J.C. Johnston Company, a scarce Boston maker.
VINTAGE:Circa 1880s-1890s.
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/16" in height and 2-3/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel on brass.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical kick pin with safety-style catch.
MARKINGS:J.C. JOHNSTON CO. BOSTON.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has some minor abrasions and small spots of light wear to the lettering.
