Description
Gorgeous, Minty 1920's United States Navy Officer Submarine Dolphins in gold-plated bronze by Meyer and originally worn by 1923 United States Naval Academy graduate Carl K. Zimmerman. Very hard to find a nicer pair that one would be able to pin-point to the late 1920's. Beautiful frosted & burnished lacquer finish almost 100% intact. The dolphins came along with his 1923 USNA class pin (see link below). Zimmerman was on board a USS S-40 by 1929 (Zimmerman, Carl K, It (jg), USS S-40 (Later SS-145). The pin pictures two stylized dolphins flanking the oncoming bow of a submarine breaking the waves.
