Some info about Radisson, which started as one hotel, and x000D then, after being purchased  in 1962, was made into a huge chain we know x000D today:

x000D x000D

The first Radisson hotel was built in 1909 in Minneapolis, x000D Minnesota, United States. It is named after the 17th-century French explorer, x000D ranger and furrier Pierre-Esprit Radisson. The original Radisson Hotel, founded x000D by heiress Edna Dickerson, was opened on December 15, 1909 at 41 South Seventh x000D Street in Minneapolis.

The hotel was purchased in 1962 by Curt Carlson (1914 -1999) x000D and the transformation began to from the international chain we know today. The x000D majority of Radisson-branded hotels are located in the United States.
