ARTIFACT:

This is an "E" award pin from the United States Navy for the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company of Columbus Ohio. The pin was made by the Auld Company, also of Columbus Ohio. 

On front the pin reads:
E FOR PRODUCTION and shows an Eagle on an Anchor, with a Sailing Ship in the background, encircled by a blue border with 13 Stars. 
and on the back:
U.S. 
NAVY AWARD 
TO 
THE JEFFREY MFG. CO. 
AULD, COL.O. 
on reverse. The pin shows a ship, eagle and an anchor surrounded by a banner of stars on the front.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

7/8" in height x 13/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold filled on sterling silver with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with come-under locking catch.
