Description
This is a French-made World War I shoulder patch for the United States Army 81st Division, also known as "Wildcat". It belonged to PFC Ashton R. Chamberlain, F Battery, 318th Field Artillery Regiment, 156th Artillery Brigade. Not much is known about PFC Chamberlain, but we believe he was from Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. We will shortly also be selling a jacket of his bearing an identical patch (please see listing information via link at bottom of this page). This patch was found in the jacket pocket. It is in khaki wool felt shows a red cat at its center.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/8" in height and 2-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool felt on wool felt in cotton/silk threads.
