Description
This is a first American edition of George Orwell's "Animal Farm". It was published in 1946, one year after the original publication in Britain. Orwell had a hard time finding any willing publishers for his controversial novel inspired by his experiences during the Spanish Civil War. The cast of characters spotlights barnyard animals who become more and more "humanized" as they become more and more corrupt.
