ARTIFACT: Fabulous 1937 Narcotics Manual compiled by the United States Customs Agency Service for the confidential and exclusive use of the Treasure Investigative Agencies. This example is a serial #'d edition published by the US Government Printing Office in Washington, D. C. The manual is filled with numerous images of illegal drugs, paraphernalia, and smuggling tactics such as heroin, opium, morphine, cocaine, and 'marihuana'. This manual is an amazing look at the drug culture almost 70 years ago and comes along with the accompanying 27 page list of known street names for the drugs and the narcotics confirmed in them. The front of the manual shows a seal in the center that reads: "NARCOTICS MANUAL COMPILED BY THE CUSTOMS AGENCY SERVICE FOR THE CONFIDENTIAL AND EXCLUSIVE USE OF TREASURY INVESTIGATIVE AGENCIES WASHINGTON, D. C. 1937" and shows the serial number: "1358" stamped in the top right corner and pencil marks on the opposite.

VINTAGE: Circa 1937

SIZE: Approximately 10-1/2" x 8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Paper, ink, staples

ATTACHMENT: Staple bound
