Description
Fabulous 1930's federal-looking member badge of the Juvenile Crime Prevention Association of America. The badge shows an enameled US Shield in the center of a white enamel ring that reads: "POLICE DEPARTMENT". The star-shaped badge is topped with an eagle in nice relief detail and reads: "JUVENILE CRIME PREVENTION ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA" in blue enamel detail. The reverse is #'d "A86" and reads: "THIS BADGE NO. A86 IS THE PROPERTY OF THE JUVENILE CRIME PREVENTION ASS'N OF AMERICA THE RIGHT TO USE IS REVOCABLE AT ANY TIME". Members of the Association were those that were also members of the Sons of the American Legion, Boys Scouts, and other patriotic societies at one time there were more than 200. Members of the Association were tasked with aiding minors and preventing crime.
