ARTIFACT: This is a fabulous 1905 Berkeley (California) Fire Chief badge presented by the North Berkeley Fire Company. The badge is in 14 karat gold with blue enameled details and is engraved to Captain H. J. Squires. It has a diamond as the eagle's eye and a number 2 at its center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1905.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/8" in height and 1-5/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: 14 karat gold, enameled details, diamond.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch (locking catch repaired/replaced during period of wear).

MARKINGS: "Presented to Captain H J. Squires by the Members of the North Berkeley Fire Co. July 11, 1905" engraved on reverse.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a fire and rescue collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MFJJX13 L/SACGEX7/13

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has some light wear to the enamel; locking catch repaired/replaced during period of wear.
