ARTIFACT: This is an extremely rare WWII Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Discharge lapel pin. The OSS was the United States' wartime intelligence agency and it operated from June 13, 1942 until September 20, 1945 before it was replaced two years later by the Central Intelligence Agency. The pin is by A. E. Company of Utica, New York.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately 1/2" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled, gilt brass

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop in locking swivel catch

MARKINGS: "A. E. CO. UTICA N.Y." and PAT number

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAX16 LGGEX5/16

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The lapel pin shows moderate wear, much of the enamel and gilt details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
