Description
This is an extremely rare pocket patch for the United States Army 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team: it is one of only two known to exist. It is clearly worn and was removed from a uniform or fatigue jacket. It was handmade in Korea of silk embroidery upon woven silk. It is not known the exact reason for this specific design, but it has been conjectured that it could have been worn by the Pathfinders attached to the Combat Team because of the depiction of a winged black panther on the prowl.
