Extremely rare, 2nd issue New Hampshire State Police license plate from the 1950's, it is PAINTED OVER, FIRST ISSUE NH State Police plate #19! Sign is hand stenciled and painted in red, reads: N.H. STATE POLICE 2You are able to make out the old first issue letters and numbers. Also, the penciled outline of each number is visible under the red paint! In 1956, the United States, Canadian provinces and the Automobile Manufacturers Association standardized the size and mounting holes for license plates. The 1955 (dated 1956) issue was the first New Hampshire license plate that complied with these standards.
